Pharming

Pharming is a type of cyber attack that redirects website traffic to a fraudulent or malicious website without the user's knowledge or consent. Unlike phishing, which relies on deceptive emails or messages to trick users into visiting fake websites, pharming manipulates the domain name system (DNS) or uses malware to modify a user's local hosts file. As a result, when a user tries to access a legitimate website, they are unknowingly redirected to a fraudulent site that resembles the genuine one. The purpose of pharming is to steal sensitive information, such as login credentials, credit card details, or personal data, from unsuspecting users.
