I passed the Security+ SY0-601 exam in November of 2022. I have degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics (not required, I promise). As a young adult with a child on the way, I flet the urgency to get a career established to help provide for my family. I got part-time jobs which provided minimal support while I went to school getting a Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Computer Science. It was tough. After about a decade, I obtained these degrees and got a high paying job as a Software Engineer. I bet I could have replaced years of my life obtaining college degrees in Computer Science with about a year of work getting the skills to pass an industry valued certifications like Security+. For this reason, I recommend to others to persue industry valued certrifications to start their careers rather than a degree.
